93 Points

Sunday, August 2, 2015 - From a bottle that had been coravinned a couple of weeks ago. Oooh, this is lovely. Still quite luminous color. The mature cassis fruit still has good freshness, supported by lots of campfire smoke and meat, with hints of olives and flowers, there's maybe a little brett in there but not enough to detract. Still quite concentrated with a beautiful silky texture, this is at a lovely state of maturity, where any tension between the fruit and structure has fully resolved and integrated but the wine hasn't started to get short/tart or dry out. This is miles better than several bottles from more heralded older vintages of Chave I tasted in a big vertical last year.
