Wednesday, June 10, 2015 - Had alongside (oak charcoal) grilled bone in pork sirloin chops generously rubbed with TexJoy seasoning from Beaumont, TX. Is Sonoma the Beaumont of California? No. But Beaumont is probably the Sonoma of Texas. Quite nice match with the pepper-forward, ever-so-slightly cayenne flavored seasoning. The hint of oak smoke topped it off. Wine was a bit rough/hot off the top few ounces, but a bottle-topper aerator did the trick for opening this bad boy up. Lots of plum, a little strawberry and just a hint (OK. A punch in the mouth...) of barrel/oak. Muy bien.
