Thursday, November 8, 2018 - 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Expressive nose displaying ripe red and black fruit, dry cherry, blackberry, wild flowers, ash, charred steak, dark spices, garrigue and earth. Very good concentration, nicely layered cherry and black berry, round, warm and slightly chewy, good acidity, strong earthy mineral and a long cherry and blackberry driven finish with scorched earth and dark spices at the end. Apparently 100% Carignan, pretty unique wine.
