Friday, May 28, 2021 - Stone fruit, ripe apple, citrus, orange, light honey, marzipan, toffee (Werthers Echte), brioche, and smoke, with creamy mousse, good acidity, and good to very good length. Nice, creamy texture. Well-balanced. Yes, it is not the most complex champagne, and the residual sugar makes it flabby, and yet that toffee creaminess is quite intriguing. Significantly benefits from using big glasses, in this case a Zalto Denkart Burgundy glass, and from serving it at 10 to 12 degrees. Better than its reputation.
