Friday, October 27, 2023 - Horsey funk nose that you would expect for a 41 year old Montrose. Quite a powerful profile with intense darker fruits with leather and tobacco notes. Still a good dose of structure and acidity which nicely balance the sweeter fruit profile that you expect from 82s. This fell nicely in the middle of the 83 Mouton and 83 Gruaud Larose: more masculine and less elegant than the Mouton, but not as rugged as the GL. In a great place but this can go for years.
