Saturday, March 21, 2015 - Te Mata: Showcase release tasting (Glengarry on Thorndon Quay): Deep blackish ruby colour. Moderate intensity on nose and palate, with dark fruits and sweet oak. Nice firm acidity, highish level of grippy tannins, moderate alcohol. Full bodied and rich, but at least at this early stage it seems a bit short and simple. Slightly stalky on the finish (in spite of the ripeness of the vintage and complete de-stemming...). Very difficult to judge this one, hence no rating.
