Saturday, December 17, 2016 - Nose. Rye grain and spice. Winter. Light brown sugar simple syrup and minor lacquer and wood notes on back and bottom of nasal.

Palate. Light upon entry but quickly broadens on front of tongue and bottom of throat. Big rye spices with brown sugar simple syrup behind. Essence of Asian pear.

Finish. Coats back of throat. But dissipates quickly. Feels substantially less than its 101 proof. Some rye spice remains on back palate but like the burn does not stick around long.

Overall. A very good and straightforward rye that is accessible and well priced ($40/L). Doesn't blow you away but solid everyday pour.
