Friday, July 23, 2021 - A lost Friday afternoon gathering – Champagne and Burgundy (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Correct but murky color, not sure what happened as it was clearly in the bottle. Rich but subdued fruit expression, sweet black fruit, ash, iron and earth. Excellent concentration, packed concentrated black fruit, incredibly rich and opulent, medium acidity, strong mineral, and a long ripe black fruit driven finish with iron at the end. The nose is not terribly expressive.
