Saturday, July 16, 2016 - The nose showed big, rich red fruits, with notes of burnt crust, sweet spice and undergrowth. On the palate, I found focused red fruits, fine tannin, yet little in the way of depth. It turned savory toward the finish, yet the wood tannin here seems to get in the way. This could simply use time to flesh out, yet there’s a lack of freshness on the nose that worries me.
