Sunday, July 8, 2018 - Opened last night. Very dark, glossy appearance, with big-time legs. Compared to last tasting, beginning to develop some secondary nuances like saddle leather, fall leaves and underbrush. Still full and rich in the mouth, but less tannic, less massive, and more approachable. Fruit is present, but still needs years to fully reveal its obvious but (for now at least) somewhat hidden charms. That said, not quite as impressive as previous bottles. Hope it is just in a dumb phase, because it showed massive fruit in earlier tastings. 5-12-16-9: 92/100.
