Monday, January 17, 2022 - Popped and Vinturied; followed over three evenings. I tested positive for COVID-19 and I have symptoms, so I wanted to see if my senses were affected. Maybe a little. Still, this was a delicious bottle of a well-crafted Syrah. I got no particular hits of black olive or orange peel, as can sometimes be characteristic of the grape, but I didn't experience these in the previous bottle either: the palette is subtle, the body medium-full, the Syrah expression pure and lean, if not especially rich. Recommended; drink or hold.
Paired initially with lamb stew, then leftover Chicken Marbella on the second evening, and carrot-ginger purée and corn muffins on the third.
