Sunday, April 2, 2017 - This was intriguing - I don't think I'd ever had a New World Nebbiolo, but I enjoyed it tremendously. The classic Nebbiolo perfumy power was there, but the the tannins were much milder, particularly for such a young wine, and the fruit - incredibly pure fruit - is very much center stage. The oak coddling was done with a careful hand, adding a bit of spiciness and richness without getting in the way of the fresh strawberry flavors. Hard not to keep sipping. I wouldn't hold this more than a couple of years, to enjoy the fruit at its precocious best.
