Tuesday, June 28, 2016 - Bright dark ruby with a garnet rim. Strawberry jam and raisin on the nose with a hint of oxidation. Strawberry jam again on the palate and not much else going on. Fruit forward with a boatload of residual sugar, almost port like. I found the dominant sweetness cloying, and longed for some acidity to give it an edge. The finale is long with some grip from the tannins. Okay if I look at it as a dessert wine. Maybe time will add complexity or maybe not.
