It’s still got some teeth, but it’s also developed aromatic and flavor complexity, including rose petal, dark cherry and spice notes. It smells like Nebbiolo. It’s a little angry, like Nebbiolo. Pretty good outcome for the inaugural vintage of this wine from Idlewild. I still have one more, and will let it sit a little longer just to see how it resolves. There’s still plenty of fruit, so why not let the tannins settle down a bit more.
