Friday, June 26, 2015 - Game dinner with friends (@ t Jachthuis): A pure coincidence; two blind tastings this week and two times Montrose 1998. This bottle; beautiful bouquet with cassis, beautiful oak, cedar and a touch of pleasant barnyard. On the palate the same luxury. Dark forest fruits, beautiful acidity and round tannin with still a good bite. Much more fresh and youthful than the bottle I had earlier this week and more in line with my tasting note from 2013. This bottle came from a different cellar than my previous two notes, but considering the two bottles of this week, there is bottle variance. Scored the wine of tonight 93 with still a future until at least 2020.

    6/30/2015 - Thanks. We often have thought Montrose does not get the acclaim it deserves. Great to see someone shares our view.
