90 Points

Wednesday, September 25, 2019 - Tasted blind. Medium (+) ruby. The nose is medium in intensity, a little closed, still developing, with ripe red fruit, black fruit, cured meat and licorice. Some French oak but fairly neutral. Dry, but with plenty of sweet fruit. Med acidity, med tannins. The alcohol is high at 14.5% but is perceived more at med (+). Called it a New World, moderate climate Shiraz. Actually one of the best, cleanest Pinotages I have ever had. It will show well for a couple more years.
