Wednesday, October 13, 2021 - Dark ruby color turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose is divine with smoky notes of ripe black fruits and hints of cola on toasted oak. The palate is surprisingly full bodied and rich in fruit with medium plus acidity that balances the blackberry, blueberry, and cassis notes. Secondary notes of fig, chocolate, and espresso on the long, heightened and refined finish. This is an excellent d’Issan for the vintage and most certainly surpassed my expectations. Drink now until 2032.
