Thursday, May 17, 2012 - Mature violet, slight bricking. First whiff is like opening a stable door; hay, manure, herbs. Second swirl reveals cold meats, ripe wild raspberry, blueberry, dried herbs. Medium bodied on the palate, great poise, forest fruits against tertiary flavours, good acidity, no tannins. Long, integrated finish. Perfectly balanced. Not a great vintage but this is great stuff, very powerful yet subtle, silently and patiently overwhelming you. Outstanding.
