Saturday, December 23, 2023 - Decant and pour. A powerful blockbuster of a cabernet franc. Surprisingly little given away on the nose. Starts monolithic but with great purity - sweet dark cherries, chocolate with a hint of mint/thyme. Smooth integrated tannins and subtle oak. Long finish, but with a narrow range of flavour, not much on the tertiary front as yet. Lacks complexity. Will keep and may open out in the long run, but could be a long wait. Empty glass sniff test bears the promise of tertiaries (hints of coffee, tobacco and leather), promising future improvement. Will leave a few years.
