Friday, September 2, 2022 - I poured the first half bottle using a Coravin and aired it too long (2.5 hours) after which there was distinct oxidation. This time I popped the cork while cooking the pasta and let it sit for 30 minutes. The color is the reddish-brown typical of an older Nebbiolo. The nose has dark cherries, some anise, and a hint of leather. The palate has Bing cherries, some leather, but the flavors are generally muted. It has a light body, smooth and integrated tannins, and a nice acidic backbone. However, At only 11 years, this wine is near the end of its drinking window, just as many other Barolos are entering their's.
