Monday, September 2, 2019 - The smell of vinegar filled the room upon popping the cork so I thought this was long gone. But after 10 minutes all the sour notes blew off, revealing a deep and penetrating bouquet of cherries, veneer, balsamic vinegar, and fallen leaves atop a wet forest floor. The palate had plenty of impactful fruit, structure, and complexity, and developed a succulent, candied aspect not unlike when you get to the end of sucking on a Jolly Rancher. It was flat out delicious and never faded. A testament to a classically-made Napa Merlot. Gorgeous with vegetarian spaghetti carbonara.
