Friday, December 20, 2019 - What a difference between this bottle and my last! Based on the last bottle, I thought this wine was good to go and last night I dug into another... Darkest burgundy color and perfectly clear. After 10 hours exposure to air the nose is much more closed than the last visit. Blackberry and sour cherry above tobacco and tar. The flavors are blackberry compote and cherry to match the nose and are followed by cedar, mint, menthol, vanilla and leather against very present tannin and wonderfully youthful freshness. Very long and complex finish as the fruit fades to the background revealing the layers of flavors. This is very good wine indeed, just before it's peak. I will not rush into popping another cork.
