Saturday, November 14, 2020 - Well, what can I add to the notes and scores (!) below, which range from 85 to 93. How is such divergence possible? I ask myself.
After two hours in the decanter, and a little more in the glass, I find that the wine has the familiar density of Langoa-Barton: an almost impenetrable deep colour. The nose is delicately lifted, earth, cigar, chocolate, very attractive if a little understated. Good mouthfeel at front of palate, and balance throughout, but strangely light in terms of weight (not what I was expecting from this wine in this vintage). Reasonable aftertaste with slightly drying tannin and dark fruit.

Probably at its best around about now. It doesn't have the depth of fruit to develop much further.
