Tuesday, September 13, 2016 - A revelation. Excellent stuff. As Billigan noted, and I suspect we have the same salesperson, like a cru beaujolais but with a bit of new world heft. It's clean, almost too clean for my taste in this level of wine, where I tend toward a bit of sauvage (of course). Still, this is a wine I will be returning to. As some Chilenos would say, y volveré, a tus brazos caeré. Las estrellas brillarán, nuestro amor renacerá.

More importantly, we should do some drinking together. From your profile, it sounds like you're a fellow Washingtonian with a liking for the funky Loire and Bojos that I love. Cheers!

9/13/2016 12:53:00 PM - Definitely up for some drinking sometime. As for our mutual friend, I seem recall that he quoted me the Barral bit as well! I responded that the only Chilean wine I really liked was the stuff from Luyt, to which he replied, "It's like that! Only cleaner!" Well, I don't really see the Luyt resemblance, but that's okay, it's good wine, and our friend does not gush like that very often, so when he does, how can you resist?
