Friday, June 15, 2018 - 30 minute decant in the glass through a powered aerator. First thing of note on this wine is its very long cork (longer than my corkscrew). Deep garnet, semi translucent. Nose of slate, strawberry, oak and carnation. Very dry with high tannins and taste is more vegetal and earthy (rocks) than fruit. Medium acidity. Long but somewhat sour finish. Not really the taste profile I look for but this one feels like it will improve with age and has the backbone to do so. Nose is its best feature. 89-90 for now. Not very good QPR at $80.

Does improve with more airtime so recommend a long decant if you drink it now.
