Tuesday, July 15, 2008 - Drank right after receiving shipment -- especially because one bottle arrived broken and I feared the whole lot had been mistreated. Never fear, though. This is a sturdy red and still very young. I'm not touching the rest for at least another five years. Deep purple-red color, complex aromatics (mulling spices, cedar, smoke, cassis), great fruit on the palate with some interesting asphalt notes. I agree it is a little curt and dry on the finish and the wood is not sitting just right yet. Not my favorite Poyferre (1995 rules!). Yet.
