2012 Smith-Madrone Cabernet Sauvignon

Saturday, July 14, 2018 - Gave it some air and drank over two nights. Better on night two. Inky purple. Full-bodied with a smooth seamless integration of red, blue, and black fruit. Great to pair with food. Above average finish.

7/15/2018 7:57:00 PM - I just look at it from a viewpoint of how much fruit and secondary notes there are versus how much structure (acid and tannin) there is and how balanced the alcohol is. If everything seems in alignment I figure it will age gracefully. If it seems like the structure will outlast the fruit I drink up in the midterm etc... I only ask because I have had this producer's wines a handful of times and really enjoy them but during the times I've tasted I never paid attention to what I am asking you about unfortunately.
