Sunday, January 1, 2023 - First time trying a John Anthony Cabernet Sauvignon, and it’s a nice wine. Approaching ten years from the vintage it still shows very youthful, plummy fruit, and only a touch of developed character on the back end. It feels like a wine that wants to be over the top, but just doesn’t quite get there. That’s a positive for me, as I enjoy ripe fruit, but not jammy wines. There is structure to support the fruit, and it’s in balance, such that further aging should be no issue.
