Sunday, December 10, 2023 - With screw cap. Brilliant light straw color with hints of green. Classic Riesling nose of green apples, lemon, some lime, and lots of petroleum/chalk. A hint of vanilla adds to the complexity. Medium to full bodied, with a searing and intense acidity up front. The mid palate is dominated by green apples and little else, the finish is almost tannic, and the petroleum tones emerges on the long and intense finish. This hasn't aged at all, although it has almost reached ten years. Screw caps are fine, but they keep wine dead still for how many years? I had expected somewhat more from this wine.
