Monday, August 1, 2022 - Not the most typical showing for Monteti with the focus on red fruits. Considering the vintage I expected something in the line of their stellar 2006 but it won't reach that level. I guess we will have to wait for their 2015 to enter its drinking window to see the next star from this winery. This juicy wines is well balanced with young and ripe tannins giving a small bitter touch. The acidity is intense, otherwise blindly you could have placed this in Bordeaux. The spices and smoke were present, but not at the intensity you expect from Monteti. It is a very good wine but I feel 92 will be the max score.
