Sunday, September 4, 2016 - To me, it doesn't matter if you have a single varietal or 5 varietals woven together, for a wine to be excellent, you have to have great grapes and winemaking skills. What is evident with this 2014 Intreccio from Sequel Vineyards is the expertise and passion the winemakers have brought to some truly fantastic grapes.

I was given tastes of this wine out of the fine French barrels chosen by the winemakers as it was was aging and saw how it changed over the months prior to bottling. I then had it at a release party and have subsequently had one of my bottles on its own. Each and every time, it has been "Delicioso!".

Some technical notes: 18 months in barrels, 20% of each of the 5 varietals in the blend, French Troncais & Jupilles barrels with 75% new, 25% 2-years old, and the 5 varietals from Napa
