Saturday, December 27, 2008 - decanted for an hour. no off putting heat despite 16.5%. there is no doubt this is a ringland wine. ruby red in color. i got cherries and red raspberries on the nose w/ a slight touch of toffee. the oak treatment was not overly done. just a bit of spice and earth as well. raspberry, kirsch, a touch of cranberry and a cocoa like aspect on the palate. this was like liquid velvet in the mouth. the tannins were completely integrated, making the finish a silky slingshot. i mentioned that i could drink this until i fell flat on the floor. extremely impressive wine.
