Friday, October 23, 2009 - WFA Bordeaux 2005/2006 Tasting by the Wine Review (Suntec Convention Centre, Singapore): I thought this was first class. Lovely, lovely nose. Rich, yet elegant, with plums and cassis wed to perfumed flowers and inflected with bits of meatiness and some talcum powder accents. Very complete on the palate. Rich and concentrated, with plums and cassis fruit wed to perfumed tones and spicy notes, all pinned to ripe, melting tannins. A real charmer. Nice long finish too, with fruit and spice notes and a little twist of menthol lingering away in the mouth. Will be beautiful in time. Needs patience though - I would give it 10 years at least.
