Thursday, February 2, 2023 - Delicious. Quick decant via the Houdini aerator attachment. Equivalent to a normal 1 hour decant. Deep garnet color could not see through the bottom of the glass. On the nose, roasted meat and bacon fat. Cracked black pepper even on the nose. Palate, silky tannins and an unbelievably rich mouthfeel (whole milk).Blackberry, black currant, black pepper. There was a chalky element to the mouthfeel, similar to Rutherford bench but not quite. Long finish, 20 seconds. Loved this wine. Sorry I only had one.
