Wednesday, May 22, 2019 - Lazy Wednesday afternoon at Kallang ES. Tasted blind. Cork closure.
Appearance is clear, pale inmtensioty, lemon yellow colour with slight tinges of green. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with lovely aromas of extoic yellow fruits, honey melons, honey blossom flowers, lemon peel, slight grassy herbs. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (!4.1%), full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of creamy salted butter, honey rock melon, passion-fruit, ripe apricots, pineapple, citrus lemon peel, salty saline minerality. Long finish.
Very good quality. I was guessing Old World wine actually, and I was thinking maybe a ripe Friuli white blend à la Jermann. Thought it was a Sauvignon Blanc blended with oaked Chardonnay.
Drinking well already now on pop and pour. Should improve over the next 2-3 years as it develops and the balanced oak integrates more.
100% Sauvignon Blanc. Ripe style but not over-ripe, well done.
