Wednesday, May 8, 2019 - Domaine Michel Lafarge Vertical Tasting (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Slightly stewed, ripe aroma. Smells like over ripe, softening strawberries. Similar forward fruit on the palate, but here it's darker in complexion. Thick, dark fruit for a Volay, but the texture is nice and round. Spicy, rich, ripe fruit carries into the finish. Pretty acid is here as well that give it a good lingering flavoring sensation. Good spice here, but the ripeness is a bit much, and the wine lacks some depth.
