Monday, August 10, 2015 - A nice mature claret. Cork didn't hold up and broke in half. Very little sediment. Medium ruby color. On opening, there was a fairly strong barnyard element that faded after 30 minutes; however, it wasn't off-putting at all. The nose was dominated by dried cherry, leather, cigar, brown spices, and faint menthol. Medium-bodied. Tannins are mostly resolved, but still present. Finish a bit attenuated. Every now and then, I could detect a slightly bitter element on the finish, but it was subtle. This is still drinking well, and is one of the better valued '82s.
