Saturday, August 4, 2018 - Very impressive wine from a difficult vintage made by Ben Smith who leans toward a more restrained, Bordeauxish sensibility in his cabs and which shows here. Needed an hour decant to open up, the wine showed boysenberry fruit with good spice and pencil shavings. Big bodied and mouthfilling with good length on the finish, it's just arriving in middle aged and seems to have the stuffing for more years in the cellar, though I question '2036' as someone else apparently opined.
