Tuesday, May 31, 2022 - Surprisingly expressive and giving at the beginning. Red fruits with some sous bois and tertiary notes. Tart cherries, plums, carob, vanillin, red liquorice. Lacy, mouth coating tannins. With about an hour of air the oak notes started to dominate the wine quite a bit. Adept use of oak, but oak dominant nonetheless. Three hours in the oak started to mellow a bit, but its fingerprint still remained quite visible for the remainder of the bottle.
