Friday, January 29, 2021 - First bottle of the 2013 merlot that we open. Upon decanting, the impressive fruity nose what a surprise. It looked and smelled like a much younger wine. The tannins were also quite tight. After 30 min, the wine opened up further and gained in complexity. Tons of dark ripe fruit, pepper and balsamic notes. The ripe tannins and a sharp acidity makes this impressively balance and fun to drink.
