Saturday, June 3, 2017 - Medium garnet color turning orange rust at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose gives off perfumed orange peel on red and black fruits with leather and smoke. The palate is medium bodied with a silky texture (albeit there are still some tannins to resolve). Flavors of iron filings, tobacco, scorched earth, meat, red cherry and licorice. Still youthful at this stage with vibrant acidity. Finishes long and lifted with hints of orange zest. Drink now with a 2-hr decant or better from 2019 to 2034
