Sunday, June 18, 2017 - Very good vintage of a very good wine. Graceful ageing going on, visibly and on the nose. Notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Figs and damson jam. Instant hit of a bright, assertive acidity on the tongue. Still tightly held together by firm tannins, but at its heart a velvety, fruity mid-palate leading to a splendidly spicy, clove and black crushed pepper finish. Very good indeed. Such a classic wine. Also chocolate and figs.
