Tuesday, January 16, 2018 - Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #025 Rioja (By MN): In the bouquet dark berries and green herbs. On the palate red berries and some dark berries as well, a bit rusty, a lot of acidity and sticky tannin. The most classical wine of the flight and it has elegance as well. Good future; 2030+ probably.

7/10/2018 10:33:00 PM - I love the LdH Vina Tondonia wines. They are one of the very few remaining truly traditional-style Rioja Reservas. What amazes me the most is that they perform year after year, and outperform in off-vintages. This 2004 is tight and structured and built for the long haul, but the 2002 provides immense pleasure now and the 2003 is much fresher than one would expect from such a hot vintage. Cheers! To LdH!
