Prior to that it will taste thin and watery. But a good bottle of this excellent vintage won’t actually be past it’s prime until at least 2040, and even the will give pleasure for another 15 years. Yes, that long.

    5/20/2019 4:46:00 AM - What they said....LdH don't normally release these until they are more than a decade old so "past its prime" just doesn't make sense! Maybe a faulty bottle? I tasted one of mine mid-2018 and figured it needed at least another 4 years or so, but there is certainly bottle variation with this producer..

    5/20/2019 7:48:00 AM - Good day! As others have noted, you may have had a bad bottle, or you may simply not like the style, but this wine is certainly not past its prime. LdH releases wines at the beginning of their (typically, very long) drinking window. The current release is 2006, for example; 2004 is still widely available at very near its original release price.

    5/20/2019 10:06:00 AM - I looked for prior notes on this vintage as i have a few bottles left and remember it having a lot more character. Maybe you guys are correct just a bad bottle. It wasn’t corked and it wasn't any better day 2. Thin, lite and generally not very interesting.
