Saturday, October 6, 2018 - Pulls off once again what Cantemerle has been doing almost uniquely since 2005 or so - that ethereal, weightless presence that seems to float across rather than sink into the palate. It pulls off this lightweight buoyancy without being at all light in material, as it's amply fleshy with rich cherry and plummy fruits with cigar tobacco adding deeper, bassier tones. With time in the glass, the structure which at first seemed slick enough to slip between your fingers develops a more serious, clenched grip and even a bit of old-fashioned grit.
