Monday, January 20, 2020 - Cantemerle's 2015 is an opaque crimson blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot, aged for 12 months in French oak (40% new). Packed with steeped plum fruit, rosemary, tobacco, exotic spices and graphite, it is a medium-bodied wine with beautifully integrated oak and alcohol (13%). Freshly acidic and silky-textured by virtue of its medium-weight, fine-grained tannins, it has excellent mid-palate density and a lengthy, smooth finish. Cantemerle has done a great job with this vintage. Already very drinkable, this is a charming Bordeaux that should provide pleasure throughout the decade. Drink now-2030.
