Tuesday, May 25, 2021 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby colour, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry, red fruit of cherries, kernel notes of chocolate, oak notes of vanilla, animal notes of meaty, herbaceous notes of green bell pepper, pungent spice notes of licorice. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+), velvety tannin, with medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body and exhibiting medium (+) intensity of flavours of black fruit of blackberry, red fruit of cherries, oak notes of toast, sweet spice of clove, kernel notes of walnut. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Swiss Valais with an intense nose showing good complexity, with a mix of black fruit and red fruit, plenty of oaky vanilla and chocolate, and the herbaceous notes to reflect the cooler climate of the area. On the palate it is refined with finesse, showing good concentration of flavours and a reasonable length on the finish. It is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 2-3 years.
