Friday, July 21, 2023 - Tasted annually for the last 5 years, this is now firmly in its drinking window. However, it does need at least 3 hours in the decanter to come alive. Once it does, it is a delightful wine, and a bit of a surprise in a very average vintage. The nose is still a little reticent, but is aromatic with blackcurrant and tobacco, wirh floral wafts. The palate is well integrated and deep and well balanced, albeit with some residual tannin still to resolve. Similarly the finish is excellent, but further development will smooth out some of the rougher edges. 93+
