Saturday, September 27, 2014 - Unfortunately by far not as convincing as another bottle a year ago. Bottom neck, completely soaked cork. Was going to quickly double decant and take to restaurant but the wine did not show particularly well despite pouring it back into the decanter for another 30 min. In the end poured it once again back into the bottle, put into fridge and opened a 2000 Grand Puy Lacoste instead to take to the restaurant. Drank half of bottle of the Palmer after coming back. The wine was showing a fine nose with forest floor and fine dark fruits, similarly on the palate where it was somewhat astringent with a relative lack of fruit, fine (+) tannins, and a short to medium finish. Good but not great. A pity.
