Monday, January 16, 2023 - From an OWC 6-pack. Youthful deep garnet with just a touch of age on the rim. Nose is beautiful and complex with dark fruit, cassis, savory herbs, coffee, tobacco, touch of menthol, starting to show evolved notes with some dried kirsch and figs. Palate is full bodied with lift from decent acidity. It is somewhat fruit driven with cassis, slightly tart red fruit, but still clearly in Old World with earthy tones, lots of cedarwood, dark chocolate and coffee. Finishes long, complex with grippy tannins. Very good stuff, I do prefer the younger vintages slightly over this, but this is still probably at least a decade from hitting prime time as it only has very slight hints of secondary development.
